The shed sits atop a concrete patio slanted with the landscape and adorned with a clothes line. The roof in corrugated fiberglass and the walls are old particle board on a solid frame. The smell of dust and rodents and then incense. Old drop ceiling panels work as a headboard for the mattress on the floor. A cracked and decaying landscape painting hangs on the opposite wall. Two shelves, one head height and the other above, run across the wall to the right of the bed, and carry over onto the far wall. On them sit candles, holders, and a hat with a ball found in his room. Strong wind sounds across the thin walls.

A long room at the top of a narrow stairwell, with a door to the street. Ambient music on an old radio and the smell of candles and peppermint tea. A single bed legnthwise under the back window and a larger bed made out of cushions on the floor. A thin shelf running the legth of the room up high holds books and nic-nacs. A round table sits with two chairs to the left for dinking tea and playing chess.

Distinct floral smell in the house. Detergent and chicken broth, The room barely fits the large bed and a small computer desk with a computer that hums and generates heat. Large glass window next to the bed covered in thick striped drapes.

4 Mortimer Terrace, Aro Valley. Windows facing West. The thick smell of stale smoke. Clothes on a bar in the corner, Brightly coloured posters above the bed. Uninhabited mezzanine. Desk next to the bed on the left as you enter, plastic drawers on the desk containing clothing. Folding table next to the window with a candle. Heavy blue duvet and clean smelling sheets. The sound of footsteps and banging constantly.

3/7 Clearmont Grove, Mount Victoria. Large room sparsely decorated. Windows to the far right facing east, covered with deep red curtains. Large desk on far wall, art supplies and books. A mass of towels hung on the back of the door on hooks. Clothing on bar in the corner. A large expanse of empty floor in the middle of the room. A large camera set up on a tripod at the far end. Untucked sheets and an uncovered comforter. A desk lamp that pointed up the wall behind the bed for light. The smell of mildew and hand soap. Like my grandfathers shed.

118 E Austin Street, Mount Victoria. Low ceilings, deep and long. No windows but a second door next to the bed leading outside with a glass pane to let in light. Closet with a curtain, collections of jewelery, skin care products, and receipts on each surface. A low bookcase on the right wall facing the bed. Bright pictures on the wall around the bed. Miss-matched blankets. A dresser made of wicker. The smell of vinegar and vanilla. In the morning you here birds chirping.

15 B Adams Terrace, Aro Valley. Large bedroom, picture window facing South/Southwest. Desk on far wall with paintings randomly hung above toward right, surface of desk covered with papers and things. large trunk under the window and opposite a low dresser with a tall mirror and a small portrait attached. Queen bed with wooden head board and foot board. Striped Duvet in earthy greens and yellows with matching pillows. Bedside tables flanking either side. Men's underwear and tissues on the lleft side of the bed, closest to the window. The smell of dust and clean clothes. A warm smell like chamolmile tea with too much honey.
